‘You had me at your first comment on social media’…
This is how I would briefly describe our couple for this week because when everybody thinks that Social Media is the toilet of the internet, well, when your ‘forever’ starts with one click, you’ll never look at it the same way ever again.
…Meet Eileen & Christian…
So tell us, how did it all start?
“We both went to film school at Full Sail University in Florida and we were friends on social media for about a year and a half but didn’t really know each other too well. I’m originally from New York City and he’s from Toledo, Ohio. I commented on a post he made on social media while he was on a work trip and we met up to hang out. Had a long distance relationship for a few months and the rest is history!”
Long-distance relationship is not the every girl’s dream, I’m pretty sure you two have established that certain connection, the question is, when?
“From the very beginning, I felt the connection. He was so transparent
in everything from the start and it was different from what I was used
to. He says he’s gone through so many troubles in the past and with
me, things were so comfortable and enjoyable.”
You said you’ve been together for 3 years, Were you friends before you became lovers?
“We were social media friends but didn’t know each other so I guess
that would be a no. Haha!”
Let’s back track a bit, tell us about your first date…
“January 28th, 2016 in Florida. Spent the whole day out on the town and
at sunset at the beach, he asked me to go steady.”
You look so beautiful together, Do you have more likes and similarities or complete opposites?
“We are practically dating ourselves.. it’s scary! Lol I’m a lot more
reserved than he is but that’s where we fill each other up in what we
lack. He helps me get out of my shell, while I help keep him grounded.”
Haha! Now that is a good combination of ‘scary’ and ‘steady’… How about planning to have some little versions of yourselves?
“A while after marriage!”
Where are you getting married?
“Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, Ohio.”
Now that’s a wedding venue! It reminds me of these classic castles in Prague. So, let’s go a little bit deeper, What made you realize that you want to spend the rest of your life
with him, Eileen?
“The fact that we both have similar outlooks on life and same
interests. We heavily enjoy traveling, concerts and film.
We make a
great power couple!”
How did you find us?
“He saw it on an EBay deal lol!”
What can you say about the ring when he gave it to you?
“I loved it! I’m not a fan of big jewelry so it was simple yet gorgeous.”
Who chose the design?
“He did.”
How did he surprise you?
“He proposed in Hawaii on the Tantulus Lookout. You could see the
entire city from an uphill and we had a double rainbow appear. It was
perfect!”
